Candle song
River moves along
In deep light dimness
Our wax lives glow
They glow
Candle song
River moves along
Summer's flow
Swirling slow
Swirling slow

Tonight, this turquoise light
Ignites
The stones that lie like dry wood in the river
Glows and shows us all
Of what we know
Of sorrow and laughter

Tonight, this turquoise light
Leaves behind
The wick that's been lit in the river
Glows and shows us all
The ebb and flow
Of our time here moving faster

Candle song
River moves along
In deep light dimness
Our wax lives glow
They glow
In deep light dimness
Our wax lives glow

Commentary by BB:
The origins of this song come from spending time along the banks of the Nooksack River in Northern Washington some 20 yrs. ago. The layers of meaning are many and each listener will have their own interpretations. But, a super quick summary of the lyrics can go something like this: Reflecting transience, connection, and expression in the power and wonder of the natural world. Though I have performed and recorded many versions of this song over the years, this particular version (despite it's technological inadequacies) comes closest to conveying the primary intuitive form of how I imagined the song might be in my mind. (We don't have direct USB port connection to our brains... yet. Which, is probably a good thing. Slippery slope there.) The audio, captured from various home studio configurations, was pieced together, revisited, edited, and nearly deleted, over a span of at least 3 yrs. Though it's not perfect, I am happy to share this song as it is here; it may very well be the closest this version will ever have to a 'final mix.' Thanks for reading and listening. (:
