More info...
AldenJ provided the beats and ambiance to this intro. I had fun putting some flutes, whistles and vocals to it. The song "Hallows Eve" had been around for a couple years before this collaboration. A rough mix: totally a DIY project for fun, therapy, and artistic expression to share with the world.

Hallows Eve
Music & Words- Brian Buller © 2011

Harbour lights
Glow like jack-o-lanterns
On the edge of the bay
They warm the night
Their fiery phantoms
Keep us mortals safe

In half-a-dream
I'm carried by currents:
A silent boat on the sea
In half-a-dream
I'm drawn by spirits
On this Hallows Eve

Tonight I near the places
Of those who've moved beyond
With mingled fear, willing to hear
Their stories, their songs

Wisdom and forgiveness
These I seek
These I seek
Wisdom and forgiveness
These I seek
These I seek

Oh...
Oh...

City lights
Flicker like countless candles
On the edge of the bay
They storm the night
Their fiery phantoms
Keep us mortals awake

In half-a-dream
I slip into currents:
A leaf upon the sea
In half-a-dream
I'm twirled by spirits
On this Hallows Eve

Tonight I near the places
Of those who've moved beyond
With mingled fear, willing to hear
Their stories, their songs

Wisdom and forgiveness
These I seek
These I seek
Wisdom and forgiveness
These I seek
These I seek

Oh...
Oh...

Commentary:
An original song about experiencing Halloween as an individual here in the 21st Century, while acknowledging the Holiday's origins (both complicated and simple) as a symbolic portal between this world and those beyond; an opportunity for increased connection between the living and the dead; a time to feel and act upon our desires to do our best in this life while wishing to be close to or communicate with those dear to us whom we have lost -- for their benefit and for our own; a time to listen and consider what might be learned.

Thank you for listening and reading. (:
